Is Ranky free?+
Yes. XP for chat, voice and reactions, levels, cards, leaderboards, up to 3 Level Roles, level backups and vote rewards are free forever. Premium adds custom XP rates and multipliers, your own messages and design, XP events, giveaways, stream alerts and admin tools.
Does Ranky read our messages?+
No. Ranky doesn't have access to message content at all. It only counts that a message, a reaction or a minute in voice happened.
Why isn't someone getting XP for messages?+
Messages give XP at most once per cooldown (60 seconds by default). Also check that Ranky can see the channel, that it isn't a No-XP channel and that the member doesn't have a No-XP role.
Why doesn't voice time count?+
A minute counts only if there are at least 2 people in the channel who can hear, the member isn't muted or deafened and it's not the AFK channel. Bots don't count as people.
Why don't reactions give XP?+
Only the first reaction per message counts, not on your own messages or on bots' messages, at most every 30 seconds and up to 100 XP a day by default.
Level Roles aren't being given. What's wrong?+
Ranky needs the Manage Roles permission and its role must be above the Level Roles in Server Settings → Roles; the Level Roles tab warns you about both. Roles are given when a member reaches a new level, so for members who already have it, press Sync roles.
Level-up announcements don't appear.+
Check that announcements are on, an announcement channel is selected and Ranky can view it and has Send Messages, Embed Links and Attach Files there.
Slash commands don't show up in Discord.+
Wait a minute and restart Discord (Ctrl+R). If you limited commands in Command channels or in Server Settings → Integrations, members only see them there.
How are levels calculated?+
Going from level n to n + 1 takes 5n² + 50n + 100 XP. Level 1 needs 100 XP, level 5 needs 1,150 and level 10 needs 4,675.
Can members turn off the tag in their level-up message?+
On Premium servers, yes: /pings enabled:false shows their name without a notification.
Can an admin change someone's XP?+
Yes, on Premium: /xp give, /xp remove and /xp set-level. Every change is logged, and a level reached this way is announced like any other.
We reset the levels by mistake. Can we undo it?+
Yes. A backup is made before every reset. On the Main settings tab, find it under Backups and press Restore.
How do stream alerts work?+
On Premium, add Twitch or YouTube streamers on the Streams tab. Ranky checks every few minutes and posts once per stream in the channel you chose.
Can members get XP for voting?+
Yes. /vote gives a link to vote for Ranky on top.gg, and each vote gives bonus XP on your server (100 by default, double on weekends). You can change or turn it off on the XP settings tab.
Which timezone does Ranky use?+
UTC by default. Pick your own on the Main settings tab or with /settings timezone; daily stats and limits then reset at your midnight.
What happens if we remove Ranky?+
Your data is kept for 30 days, so adding Ranky back restores everything. After 30 days it is deleted permanently.
Something isn't working. How do I report it?+
Click Report a problem at the top of your server's dashboard. The report reaches the Ranky team with your server and the page attached.
How do I get my data deleted?+
Remove Ranky from the server and the data is deleted after 30 days. For earlier deletion or your personal data, contact us at the address in the Privacy Policy.
